We meet once a month to enjoy listening to music - pop, soul, blues, country, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s or even current music; from Elton John to the Rolling Stones, from Fleetwood Mac to Carole King, from Joni Mitchell to the Hollies, from Manfred Mann to Emmylou Harris and sometimes we are introduced to artists that are new to most of us! Each member of the group selects a handful of songs to share with the others, and it is a really fun way to spend a sociable and entertaining time together.
It is a well-documented fact that music can make us feel uplifted, contented and can improve our health, too. Whether performing it or listening to it, music can increase your happiness (as well as the happiness of those around you). Music can lift the spirits and science has now shown it has a physical effect on our bodies too.
